WILD PIG HUNTING

Wild pig (wild boar) hunting is very popular in west Sumatra. It is part of the culture and a sport. There is one of organization call PORBI in Local Language Persatuan Olah Raga Buru Babi.At list in every regent the time for wild pig hunting twice a weak. They hunter aren’t allowed to use gun, they use only spear or machete with trained dogs. The dogs will chase the pigs and the people following the voice of their dog backing. Sometime the dogs can kill pig directly.

The idea of the Minang Kabau People do Wild Pig Hunting are:
- To kill the pigs, because in west Sumatra so large Jungle and bush, and the pigs like to stay there. The pigs really disturb of the crops, when the Local don’t hunt the pigs,Theywill always disturb the crops of Farmer.
- Sport, because they walk and run in Nature with unpolluted Air in the Jungle and bush.

In a big hunting Group at list 400 hundreds people join and 400 hundreds dogs. It will be very special experienced for you when you joint the wild pig hunting in West Sumatra.
